Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland announced as Love Island USA host
Modern Family favourite Sarah Hyland is the new host of Love Island USA, which premieres July 19 on Peacock.
The star replaces Arielle Vandenberg, who fronted the reality dating show during its first three seasons. The UK version’s Iain Stirling returns as its sarcastic narrator, too (via Deadline).
This is the second hosting gig in a year for Hyland, following Prime Video’s Play-Doh Squished, and it’ll take her to California.

Back when streaming service Peacock was announced as Love Island USA‘s new home, executive vice-president of entertainment unscripted content Jenny Groom said in a statement: “Love Island is a highly addictive dating format that is primed for a streaming service like Peacock where we can push boundaries and bring viewers steamy and dramatic twists.
“The series took pop culture by storm after the UK format found fans across the world, and we are thrilled to be able to bring an all-new version to Peacock this summer anchoring our unscripted slate.”
We wonder if the newest crop of American Islanders will be treated to the same luxuries as UK winner Jess Hayes, who recently revealed that during her time on the show, contestants were given an ASOS budget from inside the villa.

“We did get a little budget for an ASOS order and I needed it!” she said. “My little red dress I wore towards the end was ASOS. So we had that ASOS budget, I think it was on either a laptop or it might even have been on phones.”
Jess added: “We got our nails done every Sunday and I got my hair coloured because obviously I have red hair so it’s hard to keep it up. I remember going to a Spanish hairdresser and getting my hair dyed. People come in for gel nails, that was once a week.”
Love Island airs on ITV2 and is available via catch up on ITV Hub and Britbox.
